One special baby!
Dr. Anderson called Beth today and said that Monica was having trouble eating, but that this is, "common for Downs babies." Really? Interesting. He said that her oxygen saturation levels were excellent. But she didn't show enough interest in nipple feeding. She also has a more pronounced murmur in her heart. Oh, and "by the way, the karyotype came back, and out of 20 cells, all 20 showed the extra chromosome." Thus came the news of the day: Monica has Down Syndrome. God has entrusted a wonderful gift to the 12 of us, and we welcome her with open arms!!
Everyone except John (who was at orchestra) visited Monica this evening. But, where was Mary in this picture???

Monica stayed awake and alert for most of the time, but by the time Peter got to her, she was sound asleep.
