Technology

The field of dentistry is constantly evolving. New techniques and new technologies continue to emerge, allowing dental practices at the forefront of the industry to provide a higher level of care while providing a more comfortable experience for patients and also lessening the amount of time in the dentist’s chair.

The office of Brian Hockel, DDS, contains some of the following technology, allowing us to provide elite dental care to every patient who walks through the doors.

Digital X-ray

Digital X-ray technology is a significant upgrade over traditional X-ray machines in every way. Digital X-rays produce images that are clearer and more precise, meaning that fewer X-rays are needed for every individual patient, also shortening the total amount of time a patient spends on a given dental visit. They also emit only a fraction of the radiation released by traditional X-ray machines; digital X-rays reduce radiation exposure by about five-fold.

Diagnodent

Praised by leading testing facilities and practicing dentists all over the world, the Diagnodent laser helps detect caries in its earliest stages, often before it is detectable on X-ray or by the eye. Since being proactive is so important when it comes to oral health, this laser is an invaluable part of our program of preventive care.

Soft tissue laser

Our dental laser technology is used both for general dentistry procedures, such as our treatments for gum disease, and for cosmetic procedures such as gum recontouring. Laser procedures are, generally, more convenient for patients than traditional procedures. A laser procedure takes less time, is more precise and has less recovery time than traditional dental treatments or oral surgeries.
